So sorry for the bad pics, but I didn’t have my camera on me when I came across this beautiful suitcase set. It’s a 3-piece set; suitcase, duffel, and small doctor’s bad, constructed of cowhide. I’m trying, but pictures do these NO JUSTICE. I don’t know what brand they are, but who cares. Luxury luggage  is completely unnecessary, but these would be a great conversation starter in the window of a store, or at the foot of a King-sized bed. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these, and if you come across them definitely pick them up.

Mitch Alfus has been unofficially crowned the Leather King. In watching this video, you get a slight idea why. Being someone, so into vintage, it was awesome to see some of the leathers used by the like of Stephen Sprouse, Bill Blass, and Calvin Klein. Imagine what can be done, today, with such an endless supply of hides?! Selby gives us a look into the day of Mr Alfus. He kinda reminds me a more focused Cosmo Kramer. Just an observation….

Came across this garment while visiting Hawleywoods Barbershop in Costa Mesa, CA. First of all, if you haven’t been, it’s a true experience. This is an old-school barbershop that takes pride in providing a quality haircut, and grooming products. To do it complete justice, I need a new post; but what caught my eye was this awesome motorcycle jacket hanging from the ceiling. This shit right herrreee has been through the ringer! I’m  really interested as to know what the story behind it is. The self-applied patches only begin to tell the story….. Anyway, this piece wasn’t for sell, so it’s still sitting in the shop. But if I go back, I will continue to try to buy it.

Came across these at one of the best vintage spots for Menswear, I’ve ever been to; Bobby from Boston. If you haven’t been it’s a must; if you ever swing through. Anyway came across them for a great price; and they’ve become my go-to when wanting to dress-up a pair of selvedge jeans, or khakis. I took this pic while hanging with Darling, sooambitious.com, at the Pru. Other random pics below…

So as I search for vintage pieces; this garment is truly the Holy Grail for me; even though it was released in FW ’08 WTAPS collection. That’s a baby in vintage apparel age; but for some reason it speaks to me. This motorcycle jacket is uncompromising, yet wearable for many people out there. Upon released it was also customizable; which makes finding this piece for sale, close to impossible. Either way the blue lamb leather, spikes, and print will make this piece hard to pass up. Next time I’m in Japan; I’ll be keeping an eye out.

So my whole life I’ve always been interested in fashion. This was great and horrible at the same time. Great because who doesn’t enjoy dressing well and receiving compliments. Horrible because I bought into some of the worst fads of my childhood. I mean Kriss Kross pants on backwards, horrible. Luckily there aren’t any pics of that sh*t. As I get older I’m finding garments that bring me back to specific memories in my life. For instance; I came across a North Carolina Pullover Starter Jacket. UNC was my favorite school at the time, and of course it was a necessity. When I actually got it, I wore it so much eventually it started tearing apart at the seams. Imagine how hard that is; living in Beaumont, TX…. Or remember that Gap Varsity Jacket, Shawn from Boyz II Men, wore in the End of the Road video? He even sported the hoody underneath it!! Did that too in hot ass TX! There will be other posts of my interests, for mere vanity reasons. But my point is finding apparel of years past conjur true emotions from people, and that’s the goal of this blog. Some of what I find will be for sale on the Buried Alive Vintage page on the Kazbah section of Karmaloop.com. Hope you enjoy!
